Attention: Sun light Chicken Rice is Making an Entrance!!!


My next review on this blog is chicken rice (non-halal), your welcome. I am going to tell you where to get the tastiest and cheap chicken rice in Klang. Behold (drum roll).....

Sunlight Chicken Rice shop is being run by Max Ng(34). It is a family business and has been established for 11 years now.The chicken rice stands out distinctly from the rest due to its well-cooked succulent chicken. Here take a look at these delicious goodness.

The meat is definitely not dry from multi layers of cooking method, on the contrary it retains its moisture and has no gamy smell. You can tell it has gone through the right cooking process by just looking at it. The skin is well-saturated with soy sauce and other flavourings. As you bite on that chicken flesh, you will know how tender and luscious it is (and that I was not lying๐Ÿ˜‰).


The rice is well-seasoned and cooked just right it blends well with the chicken and chilli sauce.U can add soy sauce if you want but personally,I wouldn't even reach for it because it is very delicious just like that.The texture is so fluffy and soft which is so ideal,I could eat it by its own. It is not too greasy but moist and nice. Here below you can see the rice has a tinge of yellow manifesting how it has absorbed all that awesome flavour of chicken and seasoning.

Now on their famous chilli sauce. It hits the right note of spiciness,and you can definitely taste that hint of garlic, ginger and slight tanginess-this wholesome flavour completes the meal superbly. The soup is well infused with the chicken and spices flavour they all make a great combination altogether. 
I know it looks very rustic and simple but you know how some food may present as such but bombard you with enticing taste..Yea this chicken rice belongs to that category. So if you want to add other sides there are choices of pork char siew, crispy pork and soy salted eggs.
Besides Chicken Rice, this shop also sells Mee Laksa and it is good too.

The Best Nasi Lemak in Taman Sentosa,Klang

 NASI LEMAK MAK CIK

So, let me start my first blog with Malaysia’s truly amazing comfort food that is close to our people's hearts- NASI LEMAK. Although there are many hotspots selling nasi lemak, my personal favourite has to be this particular nasi lemak sold by mak cik in Taman Sentosa, Klang. Since it’s a makeshift stall, we fondly call it nasi lemak makcik (which is not the name of stall of course).

I had a chance to talk to Mak Cik and apparently she did not name her stall!!!Who needs a name when her nasi lemak speaks for itself๐Ÿ˜†.This stall has been operating for 16 years now by the owner Che Puan (57)and her husband Omar Bin Jiman(62).Mak cik is born in Penang and Pak Cik from Johor Bharu. She came up with her own recipe and methodology for her special sambal. Now lets take a look at this precious & comfort food of mine Nasi Lemak Mak Cik.

Her nasi lemak stands out from the rest for its perfectly cooked rice rich in aromatic coconut flavour. It is so fragrant that as soon as the Mak Cik passes the nasi lemak, constant assault to the sense of smell is guaranteed one cannot wait to unfold the wrapping and start indulging right away (thank god the stall is very nearby I could still restrain from eating in my car,lol).

The star of the dish has to be the sambal. 

It has nice blend of anchovies + onion taste,the taste of the sambal is a mix of both spicy and sweet flavour which is fine-tuned to perfection. According to Mak Cik,her secret methods are to blend anchovies and add lots and LOTS of onion. Everytime I never fail to ask for extra sambal because I like my rice completely coated with it.You won’t believe if I tell you,she cooks the sambal for more than 3 hours to create the depth of taste.The sambal sotong is a great side kick to their nasi lemak as well,the sotong tastes so soft and sweet and cooked to perfection.

Fried Bee Hoon with Sambal Sotong

The usual condiments of boiled egg (quarter),fried peanuts, crispy anchovies and cucumber come together very well your taste buds will thank you for having it. There are other add on dishes available which are equally delicious such as fried/boiled eggs,chicken rendang, sambal sotong. Besides nasi lemak you also can choose fried Bee Hoon which is another bestseller among her customers.

Mak cik is very generous with the portion, ๐Ÿ‘it will certainly keep you satiated for a long time. The pricing is pretty reasonable and worthy since you can see their portion is big,it shows how kind they are(luurrvveee).We had a good talk with Mak Cik and it has been a long journey for her to consistently serving the most tastiest Nasi Lemak at our Taman.Thank you Mak Cik!!!
